This case-based experience will expose the learner to clinically available PET radiopharmaceuticals beyond the ubiquitous FDG. These new agents are used in a variety of disease processes including prostate cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, and amyloid imaging. As their mechanisms of action are different than FDG, they have unique patterns of uptake. It is critical that radiologists become familiar with these agents to maintain a modern nuclear medicine program.
At the end of this lecture, the learner should be able to:
- Identify the mechanisms of action, normal biodistribution, and pathologic uptake of the discussed PET radiopharmaceuticals including PSMA agents, somatostatin receptor agents, and fluciclovine.
- Appropriately protocol cases and guide referring providers to the most appropriate exam.
- Be familiar with normal uptake and pathologic uptake as well as be aware of potential pitfalls for each of the agents discussed.
Questions for the webinar presenter should be sent to info@aocr.org.
This enduring material will remain available until April 20, 2026.
